Tantra is saying ‘YES’ to sexuality, to self, to life and to love.
In saying YES to sex it is not meant as a pressure to have frequent sex with as many people as possible, but to get to know and respect ourselves more fully through it.
When we have sex it affects not only the body, it also affects our psyche, our heart, soul and spirit, whether we are aware of it or not. In Tantra we choose to respect the power of sex and consciously create experiences that nourish and enliven us, whatever this may look like for each individual.
Saying a full YES to our sexual selves is saying YES to all of who we are, not just the nice
parts of our conditioned self we usually bring out for social consumption. We own all of who we are, especially the ways we seek to manipulate and deceive ourselves and others in order to get sex and love, seeing our shadow as part of the rich tapestry of our humanity. By taking our darkness into the light it no longer controls us. And it can provide a lot of fun along the way too!
Bringing our sexuality out into the open means that we don’t limit ourselves to genital sex, which drains our energy down and out, instead we experience sexual pleasure up through the whole body where it nurtures and enlightens us. We transmute sex energy from our lower body into love and awareness as it travels upwards.
Saying YES to the intensity and challenge of our sexual life force energy helps us to say YES to the intensity of life itself- a vital factor in modern day life. We have less need to contract in fear or limitation, and more easily find the courage to expand into a YES to whatever challenge is before us.
There is so much to experience – are you ready?
