Yoni Healing – A place where a woman can find herself
If you’ve ever wondered what more there can be to your sexuality a Yoni Healing can be the place to find out…
Yoni, pronounced Yonee or Yonnie, is a Sanskrit word for Sacred Space…
Yoni is the only word that encompasses all of a woman’s genitals in one- her vulva/vagina and womb.
Yoni is the only word that universally brings a touch of the sacred to a woman’s sexual body.
And her Yoni is a place in a woman that is about much more than sex…
Many women say that having a Yoni healing teaches them what life is really about…
It’s about accessing Feminine power
A woman’s Yoni is her centre of feminine power. It is where she connects with her innate sexuality and creativity which it has it’s own innate intelligence, as yet unprovable by science but readily experienced by women around the world for centuries.
Because of our sexual shame as a culture a woman’s social conditioning often separates her from this part of herself, either by forcing her into an unconscious masculine life style and/or by invalidating or overriding the worth of her feminine aspect. In her separation from this part of herself, abandoned in ignorance and fear she also closes her heart, her vulnerability, her intuitive centres and her access to her inner wisdom. This denies much of her sense of self and self worth and drains her of her vital life energy. All of this results in emotionally stressed, reactive, defensive, disempowered or insecure females, with adrenal fatigue one of the major new health issues for women in the western world.
The feminine is a term for describing as aspect of ourselves as human beings, a way of interpreting the ‘unseen’. It is about more than our physical bodies, whether we have female breasts and genitals (just ask any woman feeling like she was born in a man’s body). It’s more than whether we played with Barbies or toy guns as a child. It’s part of the ways we feel, think about and behave. Men also have an inner feminine aspect, as women have masculine.
The feminine is more than being soft, gentle, caring and nurturing. It is also our feeling, our body, our internal aspect, energetically magnetic/negative/sexual, R Brain focussed, cyclical, lunar, the water element, emotional, intensity, movement, changeable, mystery, intuition, wisdom, vulnerability, receptiveness, surrender, playfulness, spontaneity, beauty, happy just to be, seeks the connection, community and the personal.
Her power is about the power within her, rather than more familiar masculine dominant power over another. Because she can be soft and vulnerable does not in any way mean she is weak- it takes huge courage to be vulnerable, and from her vulnerability comes her wisdom. She can also be powerfully intense, especially in her sexual power and her emotionality- think of the warrioress whose cubs have been stolen, or a woman//man with a passion, they’re a force to be reckoned with.
What actually is a Yoni Healing?
A Yoni healing is a practice of bringing loving intention, presence and touch to a woman’s sexuality. It is creating a space for her to connect with, heal, release the armour that forms around her emotional and physical body and awaken what is stored within. It includes her mental, physical, emotional, energetic and even spiritual aspects of her sexuality, of her femininity and of herself. The touch can be energetic or actual physical massage that releases sore spots in the Yoni walls, just like a massage will do anywhere else on the body.
Despite the fact that it involves the genitals it’s focus is on healing and awakening rather than actual sex.
It can also be a way for a woman to learn about how her sexual body actual looks and works…
So why would a woman desire a Yoni Healing?
A Yoni healing is an opportunity for a woman to experience her sexual self in a way that is not about giving, about achieving goals or about performance. It is about connecting with and experiencing herself fully.
A Yoni healing is an ancient Tantric technique that has been practiced for centuries around the world. It is not often spoken about in social or public arenas because of the negative conditioning and shame we have as a culture around sexuality, especially women’s sexuality.
In a healing a woman can learn about the true nature of her sexuality, release resistance and blockages to pleasure, teach her skills to access more of it. It will resensitize her Yoni tissues to become more ecstatic after hard, western style sex which numbs her receptivity to pleasure. Or it releases the pain that can occur as a form of self protection in sex. It can also activate her extra sensitive spots. eg. her Gpsot, Aspot etc. It can be a way for a woman to learn about how her sexual body actual looks and works…It can teach her how to move from a Princess to more of a Goddess…
It will also allow her to experience her own inner wisdom and body language, perhaps for the first time.
This self knowledge can improve her sex life, expand her belief in herself, her self confidence, including her sexual self confidence. It can reduce anxiety and depression and inspire her to bring about positive changes in her life.
A Yoni healing can also heal trauma from painful past sexual experiences, giving birth or gynaecological procedures.
Once a woman has experienced this practice she will never be quite the same again. She will have had a taste of her own beauty, worth, divine mystery and most importantly, her inner power.
A Yoni healing is a way for a woman to access more of herself….it is done with an intent to heal, make whole, rather than to arouse.
Pleasure may of course arise along the way and that is perfect but making it happen is not the focus.
It is creating a space for a woman to relax and discover herself.
A woman’s body is a vessel capable of huge amounts of intensity, of emotion, of feeling, of sexual pleasure and also of magic.
