Page 1 of 3 Tantra is an eastern spiritual tradition of rituals and techniques that has existed for thousands of years, predating modern religions. It has roots in many of the major spiritual traditions existing around the world including Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism. It is unique among religious beliefs and esoteric or spiritual practices in that it does not repress or ignore our sexual nature, it fully embraces it. It honours sexual energy and the sacred union of male and female energies as a pathway to the divine. Tantra is multi dimensional and people are attracted to it for a variety of reasons, as either couples or singles: to enhance sexuality and lovemaking skills, to improve their relationship, as a pathway for physical rejuvenation, personal development or spiritual enlightenment. Tantra covers it all! At Oztantra we have added understandings in emotional intelligence and wholistic psychotherapy practices, to deepen the understanding and effectiveness of Tantra in our modern lifestyle. Why do people get in to tantra? To acknowledge our sexuality

This may be as simple as giving ourselves permission to have sexual feelings without making them wrong, allowing ourselves to feel totally blissfully happy, our bodies fully alive. This allows us to reclaim a part of ourselves which we may have kept hidden in ignorance, fear, guilt and shame.
